Ripe wild grapes and wild plums offer hikers refreshing snacks.Bumble bees and ruby-throated hummingbirds feed on spotted touch-me-not flowers in wetlands.
Annual cicadas buzz loudly on warm days.
Birds migrating at this time include common nighthawks, chimney swifts, swallows and shorebirds.
Some fall wildflowers and how to appreciate them.Bee keepers extract honey.
Beacon, State Fair and other early season apples are ripe.
