St. Paul Audubon member Val Cunningham will show how to put out the welcome mat for wild things in your yard and garden. The secret to making your property a magnet for songbirds, hummingbirds, bees and butterflies? Native plants that offer food and shelter across the seasons, and especially natives that attract insects. Val hopes to convince more gardeners to create backyards that are more bird friendly, and insects are a key element. She’ll have handouts that show which plants are best at creating bird havens.
