For Artists participants in Hurrah for the Arts - Fine Arts Section
A $25.00 Competition Fee Applies
FINE ARTS Competition SECTION - $2000.00 will be awarded, the result of judging in three catagories: #1 Painting/ Photograhpy; #2 Woodworking/Textile; #3 Ceramics/Sculpture/Paper/ Clay/Glass/Jewelry. $400.00 in each 1st place; $200 in each 2nd place and $75.00 in each 3rd place will be awarded during the Fine Arts Award ceremony Saturday, August 28th. The Jury will base decision on aesthetics, creativity, technical ability and design quality. The Jury panel will be announced July 30th and posted on the Henderson Hummingbird Hurrah website - www.hendersonmn.com.
The competition portion of the event is open to all artists, in the following areas: Painting (all media), photography, woodworking, glass, textile, jewelry, ceramics, paper and clay. A $25.00 jury competition entry fee payable to Henderson Feathers- Hurrah for the Arts. Booth fee: $50.00 is in addition to the Jury competition fee • Three digital images of your artwork (JPEG) Resolution of 300 dpi for publicity purposes only. • Word Processing document coinciding with image number, artist’s name, medium, dimension and brief description.• Word Processing document containing a brief biography and description of your approach to creative work. (HHH reserves the right to edit the biographies for future use.) • Entry must be postmarked by July 16th 2010. All artwork displayed must be of original concept and by the artist making application. Mass produced, or imported products, kits, or prefabricated work will not be allowed in this section. 2.) Limited Editions of a single work must be signed and numbered.
The jury will use the following criteria for selecting winning participant entries:
• Aesthetic • Technical ability • Design quality
No names of artists are announced, nor is information about the artists presented during the jury procedure. All jury information is kept anonymous and confidential. There will be no appeals on jurors’ decision. $2,000 in prizes will be awarded. Presentations will be on Saturday afternoon.
